Ms. Moe Honjo, a Ph.D. candidate in law at Hitotsubashi University, was awarded First Prize for Research Presentation at the 2016 European Union Studies Centres in Asia-Pacific Graduate Students Research Workshop.

 

The 2016 European Union Studies Centres in Asia-Pacific Graduate Students Research Workshop was held at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand from January 20 to 22, 2016.

 

The title of Ms. Moe Honjo’s prize-winning presentation was “The EU as World Leader in Animal Welfare: Laboratory Animal Law in the EU and Asia”.

 

  The event was aimed at promoting the exchange of interdisciplinary information and ideas, focusing on European Union issues. The workshop was attended by directors and graduate students from EU centres in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

 At the closing session, awards were presented to three Master’s course students and three Doctoral course students. Ms. Honjo was awarded First Prize for a Research Presentation by a Doctoral Candidate. Her effort in tackling the complexity of animal welfare issues was highly regarded by the judges and other participants.
