Graduate School of Law

The Graduate School of Law comprises two majors: jurisprudence and international relations (master’s and doctoral programs) and legal affairs (professional degree course at the Hitotsubashi University School of Law). The main purpose of the major of jurisprudence and international relations in the Graduate School of Law is to produce high quality researchers who will lead the fields of jurisprudence and international relations not only in Japan, but also throughout the world. Moreover, the major has a special admission quota for mature-aged students enabling them to continue their research of current issues in the real world. The door is also open to international students. As students who have completed a graduate program in the Hitotsubashi University School of Law or School of International and Public Policy may wish to become researchers, the major offers those who have passed the national bar examination the pportunity to enter the doctoral program.
